Pretty in polka dots

I bought this shirt for Izzie at Target the other day for like $3 on the clearance rack. It's so cute, but it kind of made me sad today when she wore it because I think it looks more like a "big girl" shirt than a baby shirt and it made me realize once again how fast she's growing up.

Play Date

Last week, Izzie and I and some of our other friends that live up here in Anthem spent a fun afternoon at our friend Sally's house. She has this cute little kiddie pool and swing set in her backyard, so the kids had a fun time playing. Isabelle absolutely loves other kids, so she thought it was great - she especially loved hanging out with her friend Mason who is only a few weeks younger than her (and happened to be lucky enough to be the only boy at our little gathering)!

Little Miss Mischief

Since Izzie started crawling, she has been quite the mischief queen. She crawls up the stairs, stand up on just about everything, pulls things down on top of herself, and will eat or chew anything. Anyway, she really had some fun on Thursday... in the morning, I left the room for a few seconds and I returned to find her standing up on the coffee table enjoying a taste of my cinnamon toast. When she saw me, she gave me a big smile and made this "mm, mm" sound - must have been much better than her baby cereal and fruit!. Then, a little later, she climbed inside one of the openings in our built-in entertainment center and stood up - she is such a monkey!

Yoga Baby

This is Isabelle's new preferred position for falling asleep. We've found her like this several times this week after going in to check on her. The crib yoga must really be wearing her out - Namaste!

Happy Father's Day

Since we were traveling home from California last Sunday, we celebrated Danny's 1st Father's Day yesterday. Izzie and I let Danny sleep in and take a little evening nap, we gave him a couple small gifts, and we made him a nice breakfast and dinner. Danny is an awesome father and loves Isabelle so much (I guess that's why she's such a daddy's girl). We really love him and all of the other fathers in our lives.

California Dreamin'

We had a fun California vacation June 7th - 17th. We made our first stop in Palm Springs where Isabelle spent her first night ever in a hotel. Then, we drove to San Diego and stayed two nights at the Pacific Terrace Hotel (I highly recommend it to all) right on Pacific Beach. Even though it was a little chilly for our Phoenix blood, we had a great time hanging out at the beach and swimming in the hotel's oceanfront pool (thankfully, it was heated)! Here are a couple pictures of Izzie's first time on the beach.

After San Diego, we met up with my mom & dad, my sister Heidi and her family, and my brother Shaun and his family in Newport Beach. We stayed at the Marriott Vacation Club overlooking the ocean. We had a great time hanging out with our family, spending time on the beach, eating good food, swimming, shopping, and escaping the Arizona heat. Izzie absolutely loved all of the attention from her grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

First tooth

Izzie's first little tooth came in on Saturday followed by her second on Sunday (bottom front two). We've felt them, but have yet to really see them. For some reason, she doesn't want us to take a peek at them. Every time we try to push her lip down to see them, she puts her tongue out or turns her head. Anyway, we're just glad there is an actual reason for her runny nose and random crankiness and waking up during the night!

Where's daddy?

This was a great week for Danny - Now, when I ask Isabelle, "where's daddy?", she looks around for him and gives him big smiles when she finds him. Also, on Saturday morning she started saying "da, da". We're not sure if she understands yet that "da, da" is "daddy", but Danny beams every time she says it nonetheless!
