Walking!

Izzie took her first steps in the middle of August and as of last week, she's officially walking! As you can see in the video, she still likes to wave & clap while she walks.

Fun at Phoenix Zoo

Niki and I took the girls to the zoo last Friday. It was pretty hot so we didn't stay very long, but we had a good time and saw some giraffes, elephants, monkeys, zebras, and a couple others. I think Izzie was actually more excited to see Alexa than the animals - she even tried to climb into Alexa's stroller with her a couple of times!

Football Party

On Sunday, we went to Greg & Niki's house in Queen Creek for a fun football party. Niki made a delicious dinner and we all had a great time chatting, watching football, and playing with the kids.

Crazy, upside down kids with dads!

Splish Splash

I think I've mentioned before how much Isabelle LOVES bathtime - anyway, here are a couple cute shots.

Playing "peek-a-boo" after bath

Cute Kids

We had our friends Kristy & Al over for dinner last week. They have a little boy, Taylor, who is only a couple months older than Izzie. It was fun watching Izzie and Taylor play together. Taylor is a great walker and I think watching him cruise all over motivated Izzie to walk even more.

Another "Four Generations"

Last Saturday we went down to Tucson to visit Danny's grandmother, Alice, and her husband Harry. Danny's mother, Vi, was there visiting for a few days, so it was a great opportunity to see her as well. It was a fast trip, but it was really nice to see them and capture another great "four generations" photo for Isabelle.

Fall Fashion

I bought the cutest fall outfit for Izzie while we were in Colorado. And, even though this is our 5th summer here in Phoenix and I should know better than to think September = fall weather, I dressed her in this new outfit last Friday. We went down to Scottsdale to meet Danny, Greg, Niki, and Alexa for lunch and poor Izzie was sweating the entire time, but hey, at least she looked cute!

Colorado Visit

My oldest sister, Taunya, and her husband, Rick, have lived in Fort Collins, Colorado since I was about six years old. They have five children: Megan (got married last year and just moved across the country to attend graduate school at the University of Maryland), Zac (attending the University of Colorado at Boulder), Ben (a senior in high school), Lauren (just started junior high), and Taylor (just started 5th grade). Last year they finished building a beautiful house in a small town right by Fort Collins called Windsor. Since we haven't seen them since Christmas and we wanted to see their new house (and, let's face it, they really just wanted to see Isabelle), we flew in for a little visit 8/31 - 9/4.

We arrived on Friday afternoon and Taunya picked us up at the airport. Then, Danny went and played golf with Rick and Izzie and I went with Taunya and Lauren to pick Taylor up from soccer practice and then we hung out at the house. Later that night, Zac came home from college to spend the weekend with us and Danny and I watched a movie with Taunya and Rick.

On Saturday, we went to one of Lauren's soccer games, went shopping at a really nice outdoor shopping center near their house, visited Ben at work at Hollister in the Fort Collins mall, and went to dinner at a really delicious Mexican restaurant in downtown Fort Collins.

On Sunday, Danny went fly-fishing early in the morning (amazing he could get up since Izzie thought it would be fun to be awake from 1:00 am to 3:00 am that morning). Then, we went to another soccer game for Lauren, and then went up the canyon for a picnic at the cutest little park.

On Monday, Danny went fly-fishing again in the morning and me and Izzie went for a walk on this really pretty trail with Taunya, Lauren, and Taylor. Then, we went to lunch and went swimming with Taunya, Rick, Lauren, and Taylor. Taunya made a really delicious dinner for us later that night and then we went to Cold Stone to visit Ben at work and he hooked us up with some delicious ice cream at 50% off!

On Tuesday morning we went to brunch with Taunya and then she drove us to the airport. Izzie slept from 7:30 pm to 7:30 am that night (a record for her), so maybe we should take her on trips more often!

Anyway, we had a fun time - Thanks for the great visit Roelings!
